The Institute maintains the following museums to showcase, promote and protect tribal culture:
- Shri Badal Bhoi State Tribal Museum, Chhindwara:
Named after a well-known tribal freedom fighter of the area, the late Badal Bhoi, the museum was set up as a State Tribal Museum in Chhindwara in 1954 with a view to promoting and protecting the diverse tribal ethos of Madhya Pradesh. It depicts the lifestyle and culture of most of the Scheduled Tribes of the undivided state of Madhya Pradesh (i.e. present M.P. and Chhattisgarh). More than 2000 tribal artifacts, the signs of tribal 'gotra' and models have been exhibited in 11 rooms of the museum. Every year more than 100,000 domestic and international visitors visit the museum.
- Tribal Museum, Bhopal:
The museum is located at the headquarters of the Institute at Bhopal. Rare artifacts, sculptures and works of art are on display.
